QUT Gardens Point Campus is located between the business center of Brisbane City including the City hall and Queen Street Mall, and the vibrant recreational precinct South Bank featuring restaurants, the lagoon and the museums. It is also adjacent to the City Botanic Gardens.

The Science and Engineering Centre opened in February 2013 hosts the Science and Engineering Faculty and the Institute for Future Environments to support interdisciplinary research teams working on global challenges.

The centre also hosts a wide range of cafes and food retail outlets, as well as a fitness centre including a 50m swimming pool.
