LocationADCS2007 will be held in the Rainforest Room at the Melbourne Zoo. To quote the Melbourne Zoo Web Site. The Rainforest Room is set beside a tranquil lake with views of the awe inspiring Japanese Garden. It features a large private aviary full of Australian Rainforest birds. Providing a wonderful environment for your guests, the room has access to outdoor landings with lovely Zoo views. Full of natural light the room has cathedral ceilings... Dinner will be at Alasya Turkish Restaurant, 555 Sydney Rd. You can walk (via the bottle shop), take the train (this will be the most effective option- train ticket is included in the dinner price), take the tram (same ticket as train), and a select few can travel in the conference mini bus! Getting ThereIt is a short (10 minute max), picturesque walk from Whitley College and many of the surrounding hotels to the Zoo. This map indicates Whitley College and the zoo surrounds. Note that the zoo entrance is on the East side. Parking is free all day. When you arrive at the zoo, mention to the ticket staff that you are attending "ADCS" (perhaps mention "hosted by RMIT") in the Rainforest Room and you should be admitted. Once in the zoo, use this map to find the Rainforest Room. Further directions and maps are available on the Zoo Web Site. A free mini bus is available to pick up attendees from your hotel (provided it is in inner Melbourne - no Canberra pick ups!) and drop you at the Zoo. You need to tick the appropriate box on your registration form for this to happen. You must provide your mobile phone number if you are taking the free bus. Traffic may be chaotic at that time of the morning, and the wonders of modern technology will ease the pain for us all. Accomodation detailsThere are a limited number of rooms reserved at Whitley College. If you want one of these rooms, you must tick the appropriate box(es) on your registration form. Rooms will be given to student registrants in preference to full registrants, and in order of arrival of registration forms. Hotels that are close to the zoo include those in the following table.
